The Kiewit IPL Yard in Sherwood Park is looking for Journeymen and Apprentice Pipefitters.

Job Description

  • Read and interpret piping isometric drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Determine layout requirements
  • Select type and size of pipe, measure, cut, thread and bend pipes into required shape and sizes
  • Fit up and tack pipe and fittings in preparation for welding, cut openings for pipes in walls, ceilings, or floors
  • Weld, braze, cement or solder pipes and joints, test system leaks, remove and replace defective components
  • Install clamps, brackets, and hangers to support piping systems
  • Complete flange‐flange bolt ups following quality procedure
  • Rig and lift complex piping spools, determine layout requirements
  • Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment
  • Rig material and equipment, operate power lifts
  • Journeymen will instruct Apprentices

Position Requirements

  • Local applicants only - Edmonton area
  • Valid Steamfitter-Pipefitter Trade Certification (including Apprenticeships) or the Interprovincial Journeyman or Red Seal Certificate
  • Able to pass for Drug & Alcohol & Fit for Duty testing
  • Need to have steel-toed work boots and work clothes
